New Client Information

Frequently asked Qs

My rate is $105/hour. I also offer a sliding scale for equitable access.

If my service fits your needs, you can email or text me to set up a free 30-minute phone call consultation. Here we will discuss the client's challenges, interests, history of therapeutic interventions, and other contextually relevant information. Then we will develop a plan for how I should approach our first session.

After contacting me, I will send the link to a Google Drive folder with my driving record and criminal background check. You will also receive my consent form and liability waiver.

  • How should I introduce you to my child?

I am partial to whatever title makes sense for your child's needs. I have been Introduced as an: Adventure Guide, Teaching Artist, Special Interest Mentor, Emotional Support Person, Fisherman, Wrestling Coach, Nanny.

  • Is your approach informed at all by ABA practices?

In short, no. I have worked within the structure of Applied Behavioral Analysis in Seattle Public Schools. However, I have seen its shortcomings, and have found a greater impact outside of its limitations. Where ABA attempts to correct behaviors, I instead, prioritize trust and relationship building to amplify confidence and joy in my clients. From that foundation, I model physical, social, and emotional skills, that my clients can use, at their own pace, to make contact with increased levels of joy and confidence.

  • Are you comfortable working with a client without the goal of building skills or engaging in new activities?

Of course! While I will always model building a scaffolded skillset, I respect that engaging in any kind of skills-building can be triggering. For some clients experiencing "burnout", the most valuable service I can offer is simply showing up as a genuinely interested, boundary respecting, adult figure who is outside of the family system. This alone can be just as beneficial in giving support to children who have historically struggled working with other adults.
